How long do you have to keep an Ipod Nano in a bag of rice be for all of the water in it comes out?

I dropped my Ipod nano in the water recently and I heard if I put it in a bag of rice the rice would suck the humidity out of it, I just wanted to know how long it should sit inside the bag.
few days is good like 3-4 to completely dry, also you should thro the rice in a grinder/blender for a lil, NOT A LOT YOU DONT WANT POWDER, just like sand side rice bc it has more surface area to soak up the water
