Does apple cover water damage on ipod touch?

i while ago i dropped my ipod touch by accident in some water.imediately it turned off and and would not turn back on.Does apple cover this? if not what can i tell them so that they can replace it for free(i still have complete warranty on it)

I’m not sure exactly if I worded the question right.. but here is my scenario:
I got the iphone4 in October 2010. In February of this year, I got a MacBook Pro 13inch. For christmas I plan on getting an IPad 2. I would just like to know now what an IPad can do that the other two cannot, and/or how it is useful in ways the other two are not. Thanks!

I have an old iphone 3g 16gb and i want a new one.
It has some minor scratches and cracks all over the place, but I just want a new one from Apple.
It is not under warranty and I was wondering how much it would cost to replace it for a new one, or even if Apple would replace it.

basically my ipod touch (second generation) speaker is distorted when i play music it sounds really bad they said that if they couldnt fix it that they wer going to replace it with a new one
the problem is that theres a dent on the back of my ipod is very noticable i didnt drop it!! i used this tight leather case that had a metal button on the back so it just dented it (idk)
will they still replace my ipod??
